Four-point Contact Ball Bearing

Four Point contact ball bearings are radial single row angular contact ball bearings with raceways designed to support axial loads in both directions. For a given axial load, a limited radial load can also be supported (Load ratio). The bearings are separable, i.e., the outer ring with ball and cage assembly can be mounted separately from the two inner ring halves.

A four-point contact ball bearing can accommodate axial loads in both directions, in combination with radial loads up to a certain level, and provides a very tight axial shaft position tolerance. The bearing also saves space because it can be seen as combining two single-row angular contact ball bearings into one. Therefore, it is an excellent choice in applications such as industrial gearboxes, locomotive drives, and compressors.
